Industrial Sensor Application Solutions

Application-led guidance for selecting pressure transmitters, pressure sensors, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, and switches for specific industrial processes, equipment, and operating conditions.

How DynaForce Helps Select the Right Sensor

DynaForce Sensor helps engineers, equipment manufacturers, distributors, and system integrators choose reliable measurement products for demanding industrial environments. Selection depends on range, output signal, connection, medium, temperature, protection rating, and whether the project needs standard supply or OEM customization.

  • Water treatment: pressure and level monitoring for tanks, pumps, pipelines, filtration systems, and dosing systems.
  • Hydraulic equipment: compact pressure transmitters and pressure switches for pumps, cylinders, control valves, and overload protection.
  • HVAC and building automation: pressure and temperature monitoring for chilled water, heating loops, pumps, compressors, and air handling systems.
  • Process control: pressure, level, and temperature measurement for chemical processing, oil and gas, power plants, and industrial automation.
  • OEM equipment: customized output, connection, range, cable, label, and packaging options for machine builders and distributors.

Application Selection Guides

Match the measured variable, interface and installation conditions before requesting a configuration.

Pressure and Level Monitoring for Water Treatment

Start by separating pipe pressure from liquid-level measurement. A pressure transmitter for a pump line and a submersible level transmitter for a tank have different installation and protection requirements.

  • Specify the fluid, temperature, normal pressure or liquid height, and possible pressure transients.
  • Check the wetted metals and seals against the actual fluid and cleaning chemicals.
  • Confirm the controller input, power supply, mounting, cable length and protection requirements.

ModelInterface and selection boundary
DFP4100Pressure transmitter with current or voltage output, selected by configuration.
DFP4600WLevel transmitter with an IP68 sensor and IP65 junction box; current or voltage output by configuration.

A model family offers multiple calibrated ranges; it is not one universally adjustable instrument. Confirm the exact range, medium compatibility and installation before ordering.

Pressure and Temperature Feedback for HVAC Equipment

Define whether the control task measures pressure or temperature. Match the sensor interface to the building controller rather than treating analog, digital and resistive inputs as interchangeable.

  • For pressure measurement, specify the loop fluid, calibrated range and electrical connection.
  • For temperature measurement, specify the sensing element, probe construction, insertion length and operating range.
  • Check condensation, ambient temperature, available supply and enclosure protection for the actual location.

DFP20Compact pressure transmitter with current or voltage output and connector or cable options.
DFT4100Temperature transmitter with PT100/PT1000 sensing; current, RS485 or HART output depends on configuration.

Probe temperature capability is not the same as electronic-housing or display temperature capability. Confirm each applicable limit.

Pressure Feedback and Switching for Hydraulic Equipment

Separate continuous pressure feedback from switching or alarm functions. Describe the normal pressure and possible peaks so the technical team can assess the measurement range and installation requirements.

  • Provide the hydraulic fluid, normal and transient pressure, temperature and required measurement response.
  • Check the process thread, sealing method, mounting space and cable or connector arrangement.
  • Confirm whether the controller requires a current loop, a voltage input or switching outputs, including the available supply and load.

ModelInterface and selection boundary
DFP4200Ultra-miniature pressure transmitter with current or voltage output options and IP67 protection.
DFP5100Three-wire 4-20 mA analog output with two switching outputs; specify switch mode and set points.

Do not infer a pressure-transient rating or safety function from the normal measurement range or the presence of switching outputs. Obtain configuration-specific confirmation.

Configuration Review for Oil and Gas Projects

Process compatibility and hazardous-area approval are separate selection questions. The project must identify which requirements apply at the actual installation location.

  • Provide the medium, pressure, temperature, process connection and required signal interface.
  • If the location is classified, provide the area classification, protection concept and required certificate scope.
  • Request the applicable certificate and confirm that its model, configuration and conditions match the intended installation.

A product name, stainless-steel enclosure or IP rating is not evidence of hazardous-area approval. No blanket hazardous-area suitability is implied for the catalog.

Wetted-Material Review for Chemical Processing

Select around the actual medium and operating conditions. A stainless-steel diaphragm alone does not establish compatibility with every chemical or cleaning process.

  • Identify the chemical, concentration, temperature and any cleaning or flushing media.
  • Review every wetted metal, diaphragm and seal, not only the visible housing material.
  • Confirm the measurement range, process connection, isolation needs and required controller interface with the technical team.

Do not substitute a general application label for a configuration-specific compatibility review. A suitable model cannot be confirmed without the medium and installation details.

Choosing an OEM Pressure Measurement Interface

Choose the integration level before selecting a package. A complete current-loop transmitter, an IIC device and a millivolt sensor core require different receiving electronics.

  • Specify whether the receiving system uses a current-loop input, an IIC interface or a custom signal-conditioning circuit.
  • Confirm the supply, wiring, calibration method, mounting and environmental requirements.
  • Provide the required range, pressure type, lead length, expected quantity and any labeling or packaging requirements.
Model and interface starting points
ModelInterface and selection boundary
DFP300EComplete two-wire 4-20 mA pressure transmitter with 9-36 VDC supply.
DFP300ILow-voltage IIC interface carrying pressure and temperature data; not a 4-20 mA loop.
DFP2800Millivolt-output sensor core requiring excitation and signal conditioning; not a direct 4-20 mA PLC input.

For DFP2800, the ordering table lists 0-100 MPa for sealed gauge or absolute pressure. Other ranges and pressure types must be selected as an exact configuration.
